Keystone pipeline won’t use U.S. steel despite Trump pledge

PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Keystone XL oil pipeline won't utilize American steel in its development, regardless of what President Donald Trump says.

White House representative Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Friday that is because of dialect in a presidential order Trump issued in January. The order applies to new pipelines or those under repair. Sanders said it is difficult to do a turn around on Keystone since it's as of now under development and the steel has been procured.

Trump said as of late as a week ago that Keystone and the Dakota Access pipeline must utilize American steel "or we're not building one."

Trump utilized his official powers not long after taking office to greenlight the two pipeline extends that had been hindered by President Barack Obama.

The Keystone pipeline would keep running from Canada to refineries in the Gulf Coast. The Dakota Access line would move North Dakota oil to Illinois, and that venture is about entire.

A 15-year-old schoolgirl committed suicide after being bullied and gang raped when she was just 13. Before taking her own life however, Cassidy Trevan of Melbourne, Australia wrote this powerful and heartbreaking suicide note as a warning to other students at her school.

“My name is Cassidy Trevan, and I was raped,” reads the letter. “I was a student at (school name omitted) and I was raped by some of the students who still attend that school. My aim is to warn other people (students mostly but also parents) about what happened because I’m worried if they could do it to me they could do it to other kids like me, or at least try to. If anyone every tries this on you trust me it’s worth fighting! Fight! If you don’t you’ll regret it for the rest of your life like I do. You can do it. Be careful. Be warned. Be safe.”

The gang rape was reported to Dandenong police, but Cassidy never made a formal statement as she was scared that the bullies would retaliate. Despite Linda and her daughter meeting with the police more than 20 times over a two-year period, the case was eventually dropped due to lack of evidence.

Cassidy’s unfinished letter, which you can see below, was found on her computer by her mom, Linda. She shared it with 9 News and also took to Facebook to share her daughter’s tragic story. “BULLYING KILLED MY CHILD,” it reads. “I had to watch my baby suffer for the next 22 months from these demons … she worried you would find her and get her again, she went through continued bullying from some of you who managed to get to her by phone or social media, via others, even after what you’d done to her. She suffered flash backs of the crime, nightmares, insomnia, separation anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD and subsequent worsening mental illness. I’m not a mean, angry, or vindictive person … but what you kids did … I hope you never forgive yourselves and never forget the name Cassidy Trevan. You all have blood on your hands for as long as you live.”

Rio 2016 Olympic Venues Just 6 Months After The Olympics

Summer is over for Brazil’s ‘marvelous city’. In a series of eerie and depressing new photos released last week, the 2016 Summer Olympic venues in Rio de Janeiro are seen filthy and deserted just 6 months after the end of the games, including the legendary Maracana Stadium. In a city that hoped desperately to be lifted out of poverty and debt by making back the money they spent, these are the ruins of a shattered dream.

Rio 2016 was boiled in scandal before it had even began, including a Zika virus outbreak, reports of doping by Russian athletes, and the impeachment of president Dilma Rousseff due to corruption. The second largest city in Brazil is millions of dollars in debt with international creditors, and now also owes over 900 thousand dollars to a local energy company.

Murky pools, worn terrain, and vandalisation can be found all over the Olympic park. Seats have been torn from the once-iconic arena. The future of these shockingly neglected buildings remains uncertain, but they’re unlikely to be a high priority among Rio’s long list of coming challenges.

This Retriever Is Obsessed With Giving Hugs To Everyone He Meets

If you’re in need of a hug this Valentine’s Day, you better head to Chelsea in New York City, where you can meet Louboutina, the NYC’s celebrity hugging dog with more than 58k followers on her Instagram account. The Golden Retriever, who is named after a French shoe designer, spends around 2 hours a day hugging people she meets on her walk. “It’s just not a regular walk,” her owner, 45-year-old Fernandez-Chavez, told The Dodo. “It’s a walk with hugging.” He adds: “A lot of people say she’s made their day… Like, if they had a bad day at work, maybe that’s just what they needed.”

It all started around Valentine’s Day in 2014, when Loubie started holding hands with her owner just after he had ended a relationship. “She started sitting up and grabbing my hands with both of her paws, and then crossing the other paw over her paw,” Fernandez-Chavez said. “I remember joking with my friends, ‘At least I have someone to hold hands with during Valentine’s.'”
